Commensurate to experience and/or Formal Education/Training Required Skills/Knowledge:
Oversee, support and manage the Quality Engineering group for all five business segments (Aerospace, Automotive, Fuel Systems, Industrial and Medical) at our Churubusco locations and Auburn location including, but not limited to the following activities:
Direction and guidance on activities needed to support the business unit Conduct performance evaluations and reviews Evaluate and hire / promote resources as needed to manage constraints related to the quality engineering functions Fabricate procedures / work instructions on activities related to the quality engineer's daily tasks Participate in customer related events in support of direction or guidance needed by the quality engineering group for that business segment Participate in correction action activity in direct support of quality engineering involvement Capable of meeting or satisfying all of the requirements in the Quality Engineering I, II, and III job descriptions Support customer audits as appropriate as well as support / guide resolution to the findings as a result of the audit Facilitate / coordinate training activities related to the daily functions of the Quality Engineering group Oversee, support, and manage the quality supervisor group for all three facilities, including, but not limited to the following activities:
Direction and guidance on activities / resources needed to support metrology Conduct performance evaluations and reviews Evaluate and hire / promote resources as needed Oversee, support, and manage the CMM programming group for all three facilities, including, but not limited to the following activities:
Support and guide technical discussions related to support of the relevant business segment, including with customer engineering and quality resources Support the maintenance and control of the CMM programs Coordinate CMM programming support as appropriate in support of each business segment Facilitate / coordinate training activities related to the daily functions of the CMM programming group Evaluate and hire / promote resources as needed Oversee, support, and manage the Quality System group for all three facilities, including, but not limited to the following activities:
Participate in certification audits and surveillance audits related to ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 and NADCAP as well as monitor / guide resolution to the findings as a result of those audits as appropriate Maintain the policies as directed by the Quality Management System throughout the organization Participate and / or fabricate procedures / work instructions on activities related to the quality management system as well as approve the release as appropriate Facilitate / coordinate training activities related to the daily functions of the Quality System group Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of the metrology equipment, including, but not limited to the following activities:
Review equipment service and maintenance agreements as applicable and initiate purchase orders for these services through the purchasing department Draft justification rationales for equipment found to be out of calibration (as found) which are maintained by the calibration department Initiate service calls on equipment that is in need of repair Responsible for budgeting for capital expenses related to metrology as well as submitted the capital expenditure requests to corporate for approval Responsible for forecasting / planning manpower needs for the entire metrology department Responsible for customer claims reporting to corporate for the previous month by the first business day of each month Oversee and maintain the export compliance program through the export compliance administrator Responsible for the review and execution of supplier quality agreements in tandem with the corporate legal department Review and approve as appropriate all material requests related to metrology equipment and company gauging Troubleshoot different problems that will arise in this environment.
Demonstrate knowledge base and be able to work in a team environment to develop new practices.
Manage multiple jobs at once and must be able to multitask and prioritize.
Can use a PC including Microsoft Office Suite.
Occasional travel may also be required Additional Skills/Knowledge:
Preferred minimum of 10 years' experience in a machining or production environment.
Should have a general familiarity of various material types from; stainless steel to super alloys such as Inconel.
Have in depth understanding of quality requirements such as PPAP's, FAI's & FEMA's, others
Experience:
Previous experience leading a team of Quality employees - minimum of 5 years Previous knowledge and experience of manufacturing and machining processes lifecycle Previous technical experience in manufacturing, machining, environments.
Qualifications/Education:
